With a roof rack installed it is over 6 ft high (we had to remove roof rack for transport). Please note that the car is almost 21 ft long. fully operational and overall in very good shape for 55 year old vehicle. AC was installed for driver's and front passenger comfort.
The car was modified into "Ecto 1" replica (exterior only). So this is rare vehicle no matter how you look at it. 1959 Cadillac are known for the unique tailfin design available for 1 year only and the number of ambulances/hearses made during any production year was very low compared to factory build cars. but I do not have any evidence to prove it.
This particular vehicle may have used in filming "Heat of the Night". And for fun, a line of ghosts sport action features like so many ’80s figures did. original "Ecto-1" was built by MM coachworks (these vehicles sell for as much as 200-250k). For kids, a gimmicked Ecto-1 seems designed to work with smaller, more cartoonish figures. This is NOT the vehicle used in the movie.
